Troop 858 Welcomes You!

Camarillo BSA Troop 858 was founded in 1998, with a great mix of Scouts, Adult Leaders, and involved Parents. Troop 858 is part of the Chumash District in the Ventura County Council of the Boys Scouts of America. The troop is chartered by Peace Lutheran Church, located at 71 Loma Dr. Camarillo, CA 93010.

Troop 858 is a very active troop with a long history of producing fine Eagle Scouts. Our troop invites boys, ages 10-18, to learn everyday life skills, as well as outdoor and camping proficiency, while practicing leadership and service in the community. We try to provide boys with positive role models, education, and chances to learn and practice leadership skills. The program also develops a wide base of skills for boys to use throughout life (e.g., first aid, citizenship).

We are a boy-led troop, that promotes the Aims of Scouting by using the 8 methods of Scouting:

  • Ideals

  • Patrols

  • Outdoor Programs

  • Advancement

  • Association with Adults

  • Personal Growth

  • Leadership Development

  • Uniform
